Ireland's Padraig Harrington will meet Canadian Mike Weir in the first round of the Cisco World Matchplay after the draw was announced today.
If successful the 31-year-old will face his Ryder Cup teammate Sergio Garcia in the second round once the invitational event gets under way at Wentworth on Thursday.
The defending champion Ian Woosnam, who defeated Harrington in last year's final, will play the winner between Michael Campbell or Nick Faldo.
Harrington also maintained his career high sixth position in this week's official world rankings despite taking a week off from competition.
The Dubliner decided not to play in Lancome Trophy in France at the weekend, opting instead for a week's rest following his victory at the Dunhill Championship in Scotland a fortnight ago.
Alex Cejka claimed the honours at Saint-Nom-La-Bretèche near Paris and with it ended a seven-year winless drought on the European Tour. The German climbed 43 places to 67th after his efforts.
On the US PGA Tour, Phil Tataurangi claimed victory in the 90-hole marathon that is the Invensys Classic in Las Vegas. The New Zealander's final round 10-under 62 ensured he became the 15th first-time winner on the US Tour this season.
Tataurangi improved his world ranking by 92 places and entered the top 100 for the first time at No.74
