While there's something to be said about legacy, there's no denying that it can be an albatross around the creative neck. Especially if the legacy is one held in high esteem. Hank Williams III is a country singer with a voice that inevitably reminds people of his famous grandfather, a man whose early death ensured him a permanent, martyred place in the pantheon of country music. We are led to believe that Hank Williams III is every bit as difficult and turbulent as his grandfather, having played in a series of punk bands in his teens, and mixing that fractious attitude with hard, intense country. He plays Dublin's HQ tomorrow, June 18th. Having something to prove always makes for the best gigs, so we'll see you there.
