West Ham manager Glenn Roeder today revealed that the Hammers rejected an offer for Paolo di Canio from Manchester United on Friday night.
United have been strongly linked with a move for the 33-year-old Italian.
But Roeder, speaking after this afternoon's FA Cup third round win at Macclesfield, told reporters: "We turned down a bid late on Friday night."
Roeder, who would not reveal the size of United's offer, added: "Paolo wasn't with us today because he has flu but, as far as I am concerned, he will be back in training this week and will be available for Saturday [when West Ham face Leicester at Upton Park]."
