"The Irish Government's selling of our neutrality by stealth and by means of the innocuous-sounding `Partnership for Peace' is patently dishonest and an insult to the intelligence of the Irish people," according to Action from Ireland.
The organisation, which works for justice, peace and human rights, made the statement in response to comments by the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the US military, Gen John Shalikashvili, who said he would be happy to see Ireland involved in NATO's Partnership for Peace.
