Nicosia - A Greek-Cypriot woman whose brother was executed by Britain in Cyprus's battle for independence was at the centre of a security scare involving Prince Charles, it emerged yesterday.

Ms Evi Zakou, who has a holiday home on the eastern Aegean island of Nisiros, shouted a protest over the execution at Prince Charles last week after she spotted his holidaying party in a remote cove which she and her husband frequent.

Her brother, Andreas, was 25 when he was executed with others in 1956. Queen Elizabeth is blamed by some in Cyprus for not stopping the executions.
