George Graham has ruled himself out of the vacant Sunderland manager's job just 24 hours after being installed as one of the favourites to replace Peter Reid.
Reid was sacked last night after a run of poor results and the name of the former Arsenal, Leeds and Tottenham boss was immediately thrown into the hat to take over at the Stadium of Light, along with the man who replaced him at Leeds, David O'Leary.
However, the chances of the Scot taking over in the north-east were slim at best, as one of the main reasons Graham left Leeds was because of his desire to be closer to his London home.
Graham is away on holiday at the moment but tonight his agent Steve Kutner gave more weight to that argument.
"This is not the right opportunity for George at the moment," he told Sky Sports News.
Republic of Ireland boss Mick McCarthy and Derby's John Gregory now appear to be among the favourites for the Stadium of Light job.
