The Government has announced another €250,000 in humanitarian aid is to be given to the victims of storms that hit Haiti and Grenada last month.

Minister of State for Development, Cooperation and Human Rights, Mr Conor Lenihan, said the money would help some 400,000 people affected by the storms.

Over the past month in Haiti, more than 1,500 people have died and some 300,000 people affected when much of Haiti's north was submerged in flood water.

"Three ferocious storms, one after the other, over such short space of time, have devastated both Grenada and Haiti," Mr Lenihan said.
