A Limerick city businessman had a remarkable escape while playing golf at the new Adare course last Sunday evening.
Mr Dermot Morris (40) was thrown into the River Maigue when the bank caved in under him while he was playing an approach shot to the 18th green.
Up to his neck in water, he was pulled out by his playing partners, his brother, Mr Ivan Morris, and Mr Lee Harrington, and after a change of clothes, Mr Morris took a penalty drop stroke and went on to get a par five at the hole.
