An action by three trustees of Kilcoole Golf Club, Co Wicklow, against the club's owner and shareholders has been settled, the High Court was told yesterday. The settlement is subject to the approval of the members of the club.
The trustees had claimed they were entitled to a proprietary interest in the club and sought a High Court declaration that the club's owners and shareholders were obliged to build a clubhouse within a timeframe set by the court.
The defendants claimed that all the money paid by members was accounted for and it had always been their intention to build a clubhouse, which would be subject to planning permission and a bank loan.
