* Liss Ard Boutique Festival takes place today and tomorrow in the Liss Ard estate in Skibereen, Co Cork. Headlines acts include Mick Flannery, Lisa Hannigan and the West Cork Ukulele Orchestra. There will be a literary stage hosting poets and novelists for literature lovers. Weekend camping tickets are €89.50 and day tickets are €39.50.
* The Dublin Zombie walk takes place today at the Leeson Street entrance to Stephen’s Green. The zombie walk is all about dressing up, having fun and raising money for charity. Zombie walkers are asked to donate €10, which will pay for a zombie make-up pack which will be applied by the make-up artists.
* The first re-enactment of the Battle of Vinegar Hill in Co Wexford, will take place tomorow. The battle is to be re-enacted this weekend with visitors and volunteers being given the opportunity to experience life as an 18th-century redcoat at Enniscorthy Castle. * The Borris national country fair festival will take place in Borris House Carlow today and tomorrow, featuring a mix of country sports events, equestrian events, rural life displays and traditional music, farmer’s market and artisan food fair.
* Belfast Gay Pride festival, Ireland’s largest gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender festival, takes place in Belfast city centre today. The parade will start at Custom House Square at noon and finish at approximately 1.30pm in Custom House Square.
* The Iveagh Gardens will host an open-air production of Shakespeare’s Tempest. Admission is free and audiences are encouraged to bring picnics and blankets to enjoy the event. Shows will start at 7pm on weeknights (August 3rd and August 7-10th) and 3pm on Saturdays and Sundays (August 4th, 5th, 11th and 12th).
* All-Ireland SFC quarter finals at Croke Park. All-Ireland champions Dublin take on Laois in Croke Park on Saturday August 4th at 7pm in the All Ireland SFC quarter finals. Mayo will play Down at 5pm. On Sunday, August 5th, it’s the clash of the Rebels and the Lillywhites when Cork play Kildare at 2pm. Ulster champions Donegal will play Kerry at 4pm.
* The Spraoi festival in Waterford this bank holiday weekend attracts musicians and performers from all over the world. The Spraoi Parade today is the highlight of the festival, with hundreds of costumed performers, exotic floats and live music through Waterford city centre from 9.30pm.
* The Festival of the Erne in Belturbet, Cavan, continues until Monday night. Events include an adult treasure hunt, arts and crafts displays, pig racing, festival fun run, row boat racing and a tennis ball race. The festival finishes Monday night with a Beat on the Street outdoor concert, fireworks display and music from the Belturbet Samba Band.
