All Ireland semi-finals:The minor and senior football championship semi-finals take place at Croke Park tomorrow. Throw-in for the minor game between Kerry and Dublin is at 1.30pm, with Dublin seniors playing Mayo at 3.30pm. The GAA said tickets were close to selling out but a limited number were available online and at usual outlets last night.
Lisdoonvarna Matchmaking Festival:The world-famous festival draws huge crowds to pubs and hotels in the Co Clare town during the whole of September. Visitors come for dancing, music, racing and in search of love. The first of several festival dances takes place this weekend, as well as live racing.
Wedding and honeymoon show:The show takes place in the RDS main hall in Dublin. Up to 200 leading wedding specialists will be showcasing trends and ideas for weddings and honeymoons, including venues, flowers, cakes and videos. Some exhibitors will offer special discounts.
Iron man triathlon:The triathlon takes place around Galway tomorrow and is expected to attract about 10,000 people. Two thousand participants will complete a 90km bike ride on the Clifden road, a 21.1km run from Galway city to Salthill and a swim in Galway Bay. The race gets under way at 7am and will continue until about 5pm. Road closures will be in place around Barna, Galway city, Moycullen, Oughterard and Knocknacarra.
18th Lough Rynn Harvest Festival Vintage DayThis takes place in Lough Rynn Castle estate and gardens in Co Leitrim tomorrow. The vintage display will feature cars, motorbikes and agricultural machinery. There will also be a threshing display and a series of craft stands and demonstrations.
