The raid was the latest strike in what is a wider police operation against organised criminals in Greater Belfast, north Down and Downpatrick that has been running since September 2009.

In that time several cannabis factories have been closed down and drugs with an estimated street value of £2.2 million (€2.45 million) have been seized.

Police recovered suspected false identification documents and several thousand pounds of cash in today’s raid but no drugs or cannabis factories were found in the house.
