A Spanish girl (14) is recovering today after being rescued after a fall on Northern Ireland’s north coast.
The teenager was clambering over rocks near Portrush, Co Antrim, in an area known as Port na Happle, when she slipped and injured herself.
After friends raised the alarm, both Portrush lifeboats were launched and an Irish coastguard helicopter was sent from Sligo.
Paramedics and a coastguard team got to the girl and managed to carry her across the rocks by stretcher.

Two local people who had gone to the teenager’s aid and two of her friends were also helped to safety.
The girl was taken to the Causeway Hospital in Coleraine, Co Antrim for treatment to injuries, which were not believed to be life threatening.
