Wholesale prices in Germany eased again on a monthly basis in April, with falling vegetable prices exerting a strong influence, data from the Federal Statistics Office showed today. The wholesale price index (WPI) slipped by 0.1 per cent in April from the figure for March and fell by 0.5 per cent from the year-earlier level, the office said.
Food prices were still sharply higher on a 12-month basis, but showed a substantial correction from the previous month, the office explained.
