Former Ireland coach Warren Gatland is poised to join English club side Wasps as forwards coach.
The 37-year-old former All Black has rejected an offer to switch his coaching career to his native New Zealand and is expected to link up with the Zurich Premiership club this week.
"Nigel (Melville) and I have had a few conversations and we're a reasonable way down the road," he said.
"But, until everything is signed, there is nothing official.
"I would say everything should be sorted out by the end of the week."
Gatland parted company with the IRFU in November after three-and-a-half years as head coach and was succeeded by his assistant, Eddie O'Sullivan.
If terms can be agreed he is expected to work alongside Wasps' director of rugby Nigel Melville and defensive expert Shaun Edwards, the former Wigan and Great Britain rugby league star.
