The captain of the 65,000-tonne Panamanian-registered oil tanker Princess Evaon which two crew men died in a violent storm yesterday is to be questioned by gardai.
The ship ran into Force 11 winds about 140-miles off the north-west coast of Mayo. It is understood three crewmen were trying to secure life rafts on the ship's decks when they were struck by a ten-metre high wave, killing two.
The third man remains in a critical condition in University College Hospital Galway. The ship has docked at Killybegs, in Co Donegal.
Post mortems were carried out on the two deceased today and the bodies will be flown back to Argentina for their funerals .
