Gardai in Co Galway today appealed to hoteliers and others in the hospitality industry to help them identify a man who remains have been found near Clifden.
It is thought the man died more than a year ago and may have been a holidaymaker or visitor to the area.
The body was discovered at Lough Inagh Valley, Recess yesterday afternoon by people out walking. A post mortem ruled out foul play.
Gardai in Clifden said they were particularly requesting all B&B establishments, hotels, hostels and campsites to check their records.
They said they wanted to establish if anyone fitting the description of the man had checked in but not out any time between August and December last year and possibly left property behind.
The man is described as aged between 35 and 50 and about 5ft 6in tall, of average build and with brown/auburn hair, and Gardai issued a detailed list of the man's clothing.
