Gardí in Cork have asked for public assistance in identifying a man whose body was found in the River Lee earlier this week.

Gardí in Cork have asked for public assistance in identifying a man whose body was found in the River Lee earlier this week.

The body was taken from the river at Tivoli docks just before noon on Monday and brought to the city morgue at Cork University Hospital.

The dead man is described as being around six feet tall, of medium to strong build, with balding short black hair. He was wearing a black leather jacket, a grey sweatshirt, jeans and brown shoes without socks.

He had a set of keys, some loose change and a set of rosary beads in his pockets.
