Gardaí have recovered some 800 cannabis plants today in two separate operations in Co Dublin.
In the first operation, some 529 plants, worth up €200,000, were found at a "grow house" during a Garda raid on an address in Grangewoood, Rathfarnham.
All four bedrooms of the house were being used to cultivate cannabis plants, gardaí said. A spokesman said the house was empty at the time of the search and no arrests have been made.
An examination of the house is under way.
Elsewhere, gardaí seized cannabis plants at a house in Lucan this afternoon.
During the planned operation in Liffey Valley Park, Lucan, officers seized 254 plants, with the estimated street value of the cannabis put at €114,000
The house has been sealed off for a technical examination. No arrested have been made, and the operation is ongoing.
Earlier this month, gardaí investigating an international crime gang growing cannabis crops in the Republic seized cannabis plants and cannabis herb valued at about €500,000 at three other addresses.
Gardaí are now fitting heat detecting equipment to the Garda helicopter to detect grow houses, which generate significant heat, from the air.
