A man arrested in Dublin this morning is being questioned about the shooting of Dublin criminal Martin Foley.
Gardaí arrested the 24 year-old man in Ranelagh shortly before 9 am. He is being detained at Crumlin Garda Station under Section 30 Offences Against the State Act.
Mr Foley (55), known as "the Viper", was shot as he drove his car out of a gym in Kimmage, south Dublin, in January.
Mr Foley, who has survived four previous shooting attempts on his life, has more than 40 convictions, some for assault, robbery and possession of threatening weapons.
He survived the attack and reportedly called out the name of his attacker at the scene.
Last month, a man arrested in connection with the investigation was released after 24 hours and a file was sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
