Gardaí in Dublin investigating a serious sexual assault on a woman a year ago have appealed for members of the public to help them identify a man they believe may be able to assist with their investigation.
The assault took place at Elmpark in Ranelagh at about 2.30am on Monday October 26th 2008.
Gardaí in Donnybrook said the woman had walked out from South King Street in the city centre to Ranelagh where the violent assault took place.
Speaking at Donnybrook Garda station today, Superintendent Finbarr O'Brien said. “We are very keen to speak with this man, we have made exhaustive enquiries to date in relation to this very serious sexual assault but have failed to identify this witness.
"The investigation team here in Donnybrook would be very grateful for any assistance the community can provide. This incident occurred a year ago onOctober 26th 2008. The images of this man are on the homepage of the Garda website and are of a very good quality, someone out there must know him."
Supt O'Brien asked that anyone who knows the man in the picture, or who may know of his whereabouts, contact Gardaí at Donnybrook on 01 6669200, the Garda confidential line at 1800 666111 or any Garda station.
