Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a post office in Dún Laoghaire, south Co Dublin yesterday morning.
Two men, armed with what were believed to have been firearms, entered the premises on Upper George’s Street at about 10.30am.
They threatened staff members and demanded cash and then made their getaway with a sum of money.
Witnesses said that one of the robbers fled the immediate vicinity of the robbery on foot.

The other was seen escaping in a dark-coloured car.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses who may have noticed anything suspicious before or after the robbery to contact them.
