Gardaí are investigating a second reported attempt to intimidate a prison officer living in Limerick.
At about 10.40 p.m. last night, a loud bang, similar to that of a shot gun being fired, was reported to be heard outside the prison officer’s home in the north of the city.
Two weeks ago the prison officer’s home was the subject of an elaborate bomb hoax when the army bomb squad unit was called in to deal with a suspect device found outside the front door.
Gardai are treating the reports seriously. A technical unit will examine the house later today.
