Gardaí in West Cork are investigating a spate of attempted arson attacks in Bantry.
Early yesterday morning six gas cylinders were placed outside the Garda station in the town and doused in petrol, before being set alight using a trail of petrol.
Early on Tuesday morning four gas cylinders were put on board a boat and a rope fuse was laid to the quayside. Gardaí quenched the fire before it reached the cylinders on the boat.
There have been two other arson attacks in the West Cork town in the past two days, according to reports - both involving the use of gas cylinders.
