Gardai in Cork are searching for a man who brandished a sawn-off shotgun in a Cork suburb last weekend and threatened to shoot a man after asking him for his name and address.
According to gardai, a 26-year-old man was walking with his girlfriend in Knocknaheeny when a man approached him at the junction of Harbour View Road and Dunmanus Road. The man asked him for his name and address and he gave it to him believing he was a detective.
The man with the gun then got into a van and when asked why he had demanded the name and address he threatened to shoot the other man. Gardai say they want to hear from anybody who was in the area at about 7.30 p.m. last Sunday.
