Gardai investigating the murder of Mr John Kennedy in Ballinasloe, Co Galway, last month said yesterday that they had received "vital information" following a feature on RTE's Crimeline programme. A woman who phoned after the programme made contact with gardai a second time with the information.
Gardai are seeking information concerning two men seen talking to the victim outside an arcade hours before his body was discovered. They are also anxious for further information about a young man seen crossing the River Street junction in the town early on the morning of the murder carrying something under his arm.
Motorists who picked up anyone thumbing a lift out of Ballinasloe early on August 19th have been asked to contact gardai in Ballinasloe.
