The body of skipper Pat Colfer has not been found on board the Rising Sunfishing boat that was lifted from the seabed off Co Wexford last night.
The vessel sank in November with the loss of two crew, but the body of Mr Colfer has never been found.
The lobster boat was taken to Rosslare Port last night by the Irish Lights vessel the Granuaile.
The boat was brought into the harbour at 10am, and gardaí began examining the vessel in a search for Mr Colfer's remains. It is believed Mr Colfer's llife jacket was found in the engineroom, as was his wrist watch, which was reported to be still working.
The boat sank suddenly off the coast of the Great Saltee Island on November 29th, with the loss of Mr Colfer and his friend Jimmy Meyler.
Days later, a diver went missing while searching the wreck for Mr Colfer's body. Billy O'Connor, an experienced diver from Kilmore Diving Club, disappeared on his way back from the vessel.
The salvage operation was undertaken by Tuskar Rock Marine on behalf of the Irish coastguard to recover the vessel which has been lying in 52 metres of water since it sank.
Family members of those who died were in Rosslare today, and a prayer service was be held.
A Garda spokeswoman said: "Unfortunately no body has been found on board". She said a Garda technical team was examining the wreckage and preparing a file for the inquest into the deaths.
