Gardaí are this afternoon examining video footage from a number of CCTV cameras as part of an investigation into the death of a 12-year-old boy in Tallaght over the weekend.
The boy, who has not yet been named, died in a fire that broke out in the makeshift den at Rossfield Avenue he and a friend were sleeping in on Friday night.
Gardaí understand the two fell asleep at about 3 a.m. before the den, made of pallets and doors, went on fire.
The boy was taken to Tallaght hospital where he died at 5.20 a.m. State pathologist Dr John Harbison has said the cause of death was smoke inhalation.
