Gardaí have put on display the 4.6 tonnes of cannabis seized in Portarlington, Co Laois on Friday night. The cannabis is estimated to be worth around £9.2 million.
Four men were arrested and are being held under Section 2 of the Drug Trafficking Act. One of the men is from Dublin, one from Cork and the other two are from Tullamore.
The drugs were concealed within the doors of a metal lorry container which arrived into Dublin Port on Thursday. The consignment is believed to have originated in South Africa.
