Gardaí working with customs officers yesterday seized over €3.5 million worth of drugs in north Dublin.
Officers from the Revenue Commissioner's Customs Service and the Garda National Drugs unit seized 500 kilogrammes of cannabis resin with a street value of €3 million last night.
The discovery was made at a warehouse in Swords when a consignment of paper was not collected following delivery. After monitoring the vehicle for some time, gardaí moved in and discovered the illegal haul.
They say the drugs were sourced in Holland and were bound for a north Dublin crime network.
There were no arrests and inquiries are continuing.
Elsewhere, two men were arrested after the seizure of cocaine with an estimated value of €500,000 at a house in Finglas last night.
Officers from the Blanchardstown Drugs Unit raided the house on Finglaswood Road yesterday evening and discovered the cocaine.
The two men are being questioned at Blanchardstown Garda Station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.
Gardaí also seized heroin with an estimated value of €20,000 at a flat in Clanbrassil Street yesterday afternoon.
Around €2,000 in cash and drugs paraphernalia were also found during the search.
A man and a woman were arrested and are being held at Crumlin Garda station under the Drugs Trafficking Act.
