Gardaí investigating the murder of a 21-year-old Chinese woman whose body was discovered early yesterday morning in Co Wicklow say they have arrested a man.
The man being questioned by detectives is understood to also be Chinese.
The man (22) was arrested early this morning in the Bray area. He is being held at Bray Garda Station under Section 4, Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Meanwhile, gardaí were today in touch with the Chinese embassy in Dublin in a bid to contact the family of the woman whose body was found with stab wounds in Bray, yesterday.
The dead woman had been living in Bray for some time, while studying the English language at a college in Dublin.
The results of a post mortem examination on the woman's body found that she died of multiple stab wounds.
The woman's body was found lying face up close to some trees in a popular walking area close to an industrial estate in Bray yesterday by a passer-by.
Garda sources called the attack particularly vicious and said the woman's belongings, bag and books were found scattered close to her body.
