GARDAI last night appealed for public assistance in tracing the last movements of Ms Marilyn Rynn, the Dublin civil servant whose naked body was found on wasteland near her home yesterday.
Ms Rynn, a 40 year old singled woman, is believed to have been waylaid and murdered as she returned home to Blanchardstown in the early hours of Friday, December 22nd.
Late last night the Garda Press Office said the results of the post mortem carried out yesterday on Ms Rynn's body had proved inconclusive and further tests would be carried out.
On the evening she went missing Ms Ryan had attended a party in a Raheny hotel before going to Eddie Rocket's diner on O'Connell Street. Gardai think she caught a late night bus home from O'Connell Street, but was murdered between her bus stop in Blanchardstown and her home.
Chief Supt Jim McHugh said gardai particularly want to talk to anyone who travelled home from the city centre on the Nitelink bus to Blanchardstown at around 3 a.m. on Friday, December 22nd.
Gardai also want to speak to the taxi driver who picked up Ms Rynn outside the Shieling Hotel in Raheny at around 2 a.m. and brought her to O'Connell Street.
Ms Rynn's last known location was Eddie Rocket's in O'Connell Street, which she left at about 2.50 a.m.
Ms Rynn was described as 5 ft 6 in, with short brown hair, and was wearing a black skirt, wine blouse, black shoes and a green three quarter length jacket with a black fur collar.
Her body was found face down and naked in wasteland in the Tolka Valley, between Blanchardstown and the main Navan road.
Her clothes were in a bundle just a few feet away and a couple of yards from the river.
The discovery was made shortly after a Garda team, with a German shepherd dog, began their first methodical search of the area at about 9 a.m. near a row of council houses on Greenridge Court.
