A 53 year old tradition at Pearse Street Garda station in Dublin was continued yesterday when its six community gardai hosted a party for 110 senior citizens from south inner city areas.
A four course turkey and ham dinner with drink was provided for the party, organised by Garda John Toohey and Garda Tom Mahon.
Entertainment was provided by Ronnie Drew and John Sheehan of the Dubliners, the All Nighters band, Dublin comedian Brendan Savage and actor Jim Bartley. The Lord Mayor of Dublin, Mr Brendan Lynch, was also in attendance.
