A Garda inquiry has been launched following the death of a man after a row with a group of youths in Leixlip early today.
Gardaí are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed an altercation on the Celbridge Road in the town shortly after midnight to come forward.
A local man in his fifties, thought to have been involved, was brought to James Connolly Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.
A post-mortem is being carried out by the deputy state pathologist Dr Michael Curtis.
