HIV tests on a man who bit a student garda are negative, Dublin Circuit Criminal Court was told yesterday when the man was jailed for seven years for bank robbery.
Stephen Fagan (20) of Lower Rutland Street, Dublin, bit the student garda, John Burke, during an arrest struggle. He had previously pleaded guilty to eight charges of armed robberies and assaults on gardai in 1994 and 1995. He was jailed for seven years for his role as getaway driver in the armed robbery from the Skerries branch of AIB in 1995.
