A helpline run by the Western Health Board has opened for possible victims of abuse at the Holy Family school in Renmore, Galway. Allegations of abuse at the special school run by the Brothers of Charity for children with mild learning disabilities surfaced recently, and the health board was asked by the order to establish an independent inquiry. The confidential helpline, 1 800 245 600, was set up for any day or residential pupil who would like to contact the board on any matter relating to abuse.
The helpline runs from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. all this week, including Saturday.
