The former Noraid publicity director, Mr Martin Galvin, has met dissident republican groups during a week-long visit to Ireland. Mr Galvin, who opposes the Belfast Agreement, met members of the 32 County Sovereignty Committee and Republican Sinn Fein on both sides of the Border.
He said that on returning to the US at the weekend, he will hold discussions with other Irish-American activists about establishing a new political organisation which would "adhere to a traditional republican philosophy". The body would raise money for Continuity IRA and "true" IRA prisoners and would act as a lobby group, he said.
