An action for damages over the termination of an agreement under which Gael Linn held fund-raising bingo nights at a cinema for more than 20 years has been settled, the High Court was told yesterday.
Gael Linn, a registered charity with offices at Merrion Square, Dublin, claimed that the company from which it rented the former Apollo Cinema at Sundrive Road, Kimmage, Dublin, had purported to terminate the agreement and changed the building's locks in September 1998.
Kilmainham Cinema Co Ltd, owner of the Apollo, acknowledged that it took possession of the building but submitted it did so only after serving a notice of termination of the agreement.
