Cork received another jobs boost today with the news that financial services company, Citco, is to create 250 jobs in an expansion of its current operations.

Citco will open a hedge fund administration centre in Cork and expand its existing data processing operation in the city.

Added to yesterday's announcement by Amgen, this means that over1,350 new jobs will be created in Cork in the next few years.

"The decision to locate in Ireland has been fully vindicated and this expansion into a new location for our fund administration business reflects on our continued commitment to Ireland as a strategic location for our business," said Kieran Conroy, managing director of Citco Fund Services.
