Paris - The death of 112-year-old Ms Jeanne Dumaine, who was France's oldest person, has left another woman, Ms Marie Bremont, also 112 but 35 days her junior, France's oldest survivor.
Learning of her new-found glory, Ms Bremont reportedly smiled and said: "I'm the doyenne of France."
The oldest person alive is 118-year-old Sarah Knauss Clark, of the United States.
