A look ahead to events taking place across the country this weekend:
Bastille Day celebrations
Dún Laoghaire hosts the Irish celebrations of Bastille Day, the French national holiday which celebrates the beginning of the French Revolution, tonight at The Royal St. George Yacht Club.
The celebration, which kicks off at 8pm, will combine music, dancing and raffles, with exciting trips to France up for grabs. A selection of French wine, canapés and charcuterie will be served at the event.
Tickets are priced at €50 for members, €60 for non-members and €65 at the door.

Kinsale Arts Festival
West Cork’s Kinsale Arts Festival continues this weekend showcasing the work of both established and emerging new artists from the worlds of art, music, literature and theatre.
Kinsale drama group The Rampart Players will perform Oscar Wilde’s famous tale of vanity and virtue, The Picture of Dorian Gray until this Monday at Kinsale Community School. Tickets are priced at €18.
Tomorrow the Pop up Playhouse hosts seminars with the winner of the Costa Biography Prize 2011 Matthew Hollis and award-winning author Sarah Bakewell.

Clonmel Junction Festival
The Clonmel Junction Festival will fuse drama and music this weekend and promises to decorate the streets of Clonmel with its colourful banners and exhibits.
The festival features an exciting mix of theatre, circus, comedy and music acts and is taking place in a variety of venues across the town.
Award-winning Swiss circus act Nicole and Martin: The Musicians of Bremen will perform at The White Tent in Mick Delahunty Square at 4pm tomorrow. Music duo David Houston and Darren Loughran will play a mix of country and rock classics at Moran’s Back Bar tomorrow at 9pm and admission is free.

Street Performance World Championships
The Laya Healthcare Street Performance World Championship descends on Cork’s Fitzgerald Park this weekend.
The event features a colourful assortment of the world’s best contortionists, magicians, break dancers, comedians and professional jesters, battling it out to be named world champion.
From sword swallowers to piano jugglers, the free family festival will provide a huge variety of eccentric entertainment all day.

Pig n' Porter Tag Rugby Festival
Limerick’s Old Crescent RFC rugby club will be awash with tag rugby players tomorrow for the 11th annual Pig n' Porter Tag Rugby Festival.
Some 130 teams from Ireland, the United Kingdom and France will compete in the large tournament and an expected 3,000 spectators will take part in the day’s festivities.
The family-fun activities include a fancy dress competition, Father Ted-style disco and pitch-side Jacuzzi along with spit-roasts and a giant barbeque.

Mayo plays host to the DoocastleFest in Doocastle tomorrow with 2 DJs and a barbeque, while Kilmactigue Community Centre in Sligo treats its neighbourhood to a family-fun day with novelty races, penalty shoot-outs, face painting and a teddy bears picnic.
