French Drama

A drama with an extraordinary history is about to be produced at a Parisian theatre

A drama with an extraordinary history is about to be produced at a Parisian theatre. It is founded on personal experiences in the female prison of St. Lazare. Not only is it written by a discharged prisoner, who will also take a part in it, but she will be supported in the cast by another ex-inmate - the wife of a well-known dress designer of the Opera and Opera Comique. The two ladies in question were charged with attempts at poisoning, and after long incarceration were discharged, their supposed victims being at the present moment in the enjoyment of excellent health. The two were at St. Lazare together, and managed to converse, from time to time, through a crack in the partition of their cells. The outcome of their stolen chats is the theatrical representation about to be given before Parisian playgoers. While aiming at success, they disclaim any attempt at making capital out of the scandal caused by their cases.
