Robbie Fowler made his debut for Leeds United today but failed to inspire his new team mates in a frustrating 0-0 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage in the English premiership.
Fowler, who joined Leeds for more than Stg£11 million ($15.69 million) from Liverpool this week, battled gamely to make an impression alongside Australian strike partner Mark Viduka, but enjoyed few clear chances in a drab affair.
The England international stung the fingers of Fulham goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar with a 25-metre shot, but came closest to getting on the scoresheet four minutes from time when his improvised close range effort hit van der Sar's legs.
Fulham's Luis Boa Morte saw his first half effort cleared off the line by Gary Kelly and defender Andy Melville's 68th-minute header cannoned back off Leeds goalkeeper Nigel Martyn's crossbar as the home side pressed in vain.
The point shared leaves Leeds third in the table, four points behind leaders Liverpool. Fulham move into 11th place.
