Independent Newspapers have confirmed that four of its staff had undergone medical examinations after a suspect package was delivered to its Dublin offices.
In a statement Independent Newspapers, which publishes the Irish Independent and Sunday Independent, said the suspect letter had not been opened, and had been removed by army personnel.
"In the current environment and as a precaution, four staff members who came into contact with the envelope have undergone medical examination," said the statement.
