A woman passenger has been killed in a car crash in Co Leitrim early this morning.
The woman, who was in her fifties, died after the car left the road and overturned at Effnagh, Carrick-on-Shannon, at 1.30 a.m.
The male driver of the car was taken to Sligo General Hospital.
Three men were killed in separate road incidents last night.
A man (61) was killed when he was hit by a car at the Gardiner Street and Parnell Street junction at 8.45 p.m. last night. The identity of the man has not been made public.
In Co Galway, a man (75) was killed when his car crashed into a tree near Moylough.
Another man (20) was killed in a crash in Co Tyrone last night. The incident happened on the Favour Royal Road, two miles from Augher. The police said the road would be closed until mid-morning.
