A 21-year old male pedestrian died after being hit by a car in Kilcarn, Dublin road, Navan Co Meath at 3.15 a.m. this morning.

In Co Kildare a man died after his car struck a canal bridge and went into the canal in Allenwood, Naas at 1.15 a.m.

In Dublin two men were seriously injured when the driver of a transit van hit a group of people in Peter’s Row Dublin 8. The driver of the vehicle, a juvenile was later arrested for drink driving. A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A 90-year-old man, who died in Mayo general hospital in Castlebar from injuries sustained in an accident in Ballyhaunis on March 1st, was tonight named as Mr James Dyre from Ballyhaunis. He was hit by a car while walking in the town.
