Four men were charged today with drug smuggling offences following a record £32 million seizure of cocaine, British Customs officials said.
They were arrested after the 500 kilo haul - the largest ever to be smuggled into the UK by air - was recovered at Southend Airport in Essex.
A Customs spokesman said another man had been released and a sixth man was still being questioned.
The men were arrested on Tuesday night shortly after a Boeing 707 plane arrived from Jamaica via the Canary Islands.
