Bayern Munich have injury worries over four players for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg against Real Madrid, coach Ottmar Hitzfeld said today.
Midfielder Mehmet Scholl, who hurt his right ankle in Bayern's 1-0 win in Madrid last week, resumed light training on Sunday but remains doubtful for the return match at the Olympic Stadium.
Defender Samuel Kuffour had to be substituted in Saturday's 1-0 win at Bayer Leverkusen which kept Bayern second behind league leaders Schalke 04 on goal difference with two matches to play.
Striker Carsten Jancker and Brazilian forward Paulo Sergio both sustained minor ankle injuries in the Leverkusen game.
"We have a big problem but I am confident our medical department will help some of the injured players make Wednesday's match," said Hitzfeld.
Brazilian striker Elber and Germany midfielder Jens Jeremies both played in the first leg against Real less than two weeks after having knee surgery. Elber hit the winner.
Jeremies said he felt pain in his knee in the Leverkusen match but Hitzfeld said there was nothing to worry about.
