A 23-year-old Fingal woman has told a Central Criminal Court jury her former lover raped her in the grounds of a school near her home early one morning. She said he told her he raped her because she had broken up with him and called her a slut.

The alleged victim said the accused man had been stalking her in a north Co Dublin town for some weeks after they broke up a two-year sexual relationship. She felt scared when he followed her but he would be quite normal after catching up with her.

A 21-year-old Co Meath man has pleaded not guilty to raping and sexually assaulting the woman on September 7th, 1997. The hearing continues.
