Carlisle Utd have today completed the signing of Richie Foran from Shelbourne.
The volatile striker has joined Roddy Collins’s struggling third division outfit for an undisclosed fee, believed to be in the region of £100,000. He has signed a three year contract and goes straight into the squad for Saturday’s game away to Rochdale.
Collins has been trying to sign quality strikers ever since he took charge of Carlisle two months ago, and may be just the man to get the best out of a youngster who has tarnished his career to-date with no fewer than 6 red cards in the last twelve months.
Collins is also reportedly in the hunt for Foran's international strike partner Michael Reddy.
Sunderland today gave him permission to speak with the player and reports are that he is keen to link up with United on a long-term loan deal.
